Dear Lord,
You have entrusted to our care the many prayer requests shared with Faith in Prayer. Help us to hold them with great care as we pray for the souls suffering by illness and disease, wounded by fractured relationships, longing for resolution to needs, and asking for clarity about your will for their life. You alone Lord know each story, each hurt, each wound. We especially ask your touch for the pain evident between the lines we read, behind the masks we wear. May we honor your name in lifting all these things to your good care as you gently take burdens from us when we are able to let you hold them and lift us again.
You search our hearts, you examine our ways and you love us more than we love ourselves. Permit us father to know your presence in our daily lives and to hear what you long for us to know. In ways and places that surprise us, remind us of your loving care and generous provisions for humankind. We long to know you more and believe that you are mindful of us individually and collectively.
Thank you for the moments when we are able to love more others more than ourselves, when we stand fully present with others, when we stand with those in need, and love those whom we do not understand. May we boldly speak your truth and receive others with great joy.
Grant that when this day ends, we will join the saints in this prayer: “Keep watch, dear Lord, with those who work, or watch, or weep this night, and give thine angels charge over those who sleep. Tend the sick, Lord; give rest to the weary, bless the dying, soothe the suffering, pity the afflicted, shield the joyous; and all for thy love’s sake.”
Amen.
May we “go through all the activities of our days in joyful awareness of God's presence." Ignatius
